Jazlyn is a model, a digital creator, and a budding musician. Through social media, she shares her day-to-day inspirations, artistic journey, as well as her magnetic personality and charming positivity to life. In this conversation, we follow her as she walks through her journey with skincare.

 

Growing Up — Little Vanity Mirror

Every form of art starts as the art of imitation. Like many of us, when Jazlyn was a little girl, watching her mother get ready in the morning opened her up to the fascinating and endless world of beauty and skincare. 

“Watching my face in my little vanity mirror was the highlight of my day.” 

Acnes and First Job

High school is a time period of mixed feelings – happy and sad, excited and anxious. For Jazlyn, it was the acne scarring and her first job. It was from then that she started to look for products that have safe ingredients for her skin. 

“In high school, I got my first job with a small skincare business. I was fascinated with how day-to-day ingredients could improve your skin. I had extremely dry skin and a lot of acne scarring back then. When a brand cares about what goes into my skin, I feel safe with that brand. The minute I see an overload of ingredients that I've never heard before, I am not looking to purchase that product.” 

 

It was from then that she started to look for products that have safe ingredients for her skin as Jazlyn grows more conscious of what products she would like to use to solve her acne.

“In a Perfect World, I Would…” 

For Jazlyn, it all began with music from which she discovered the world of marketing and the art of persuasion. 

“Makeup and skincare has always been a release for me. I used to say, ‘In a perfect world, I would do makeup and skincare for the rest of my life,’ and now I realized I can do that through content creation which is why I’ve made it my career choice.”

 

Integrity, Inspiration, and Self-care

Having worked in the beauty industry for years now, Jazlyn only collaborates with skincare brands that she believes have integrity, and brands who also share inspiration through promoting their products. Over the years, she has developed her own values and philosophy for skincare.

“When everybody has different skin care needs, the need for inspiration remains the same. Today, skincare is my way of self-care and I enjoy sharing that with other people.”

“The environment plays a big role in how we treat ourselves – most of all, our skin. Everything is made from nature so we must really take great care of it, so that our ingredients are clean.”
